An interior with a difference - the Biscuit Tin

Lincoln Properties challenged us with an interesting project:• Design a marketing suite to become the central hub within the newly developed landscape at Reading train station (https://one.stationhill.co.uk/) • That will give potential clients both a clear vision of, and the opportunities that will be available in, Reading’s newest commercial venture at the heart of the town centreThe solution that we have delivered is centred around the use of three shipping containers; immensely versatile and therefore easily modified to fit our design and build brief. Fundamentally, by reusing, repairing, and recycling existing materials (i.e. large amounts of steel) the project also delivers the significant sustainability benefits of adopting circular economy principles. To inspire the rich palette in the interior of our newly created ‘tin’ … our designers took inspiration from one of Reading’s most famous firms – British biscuit maker Huntly & Palmer. By researching the historic packaging and the varied colourings that - the once biggest global biscuit brand - used for their tins.Special thanks to Hatch Real Estate, Lincoln Properties and all the hard work from our Curve team.
