High-end partner-led project in Central London receives commendation

A recently completed partner-led project, which involved the relocation of the business’ workplace from its established home in the St Paul’s area of London to Victoria has gained high commendation from the client.The high-end brief, which was led by the partners of the business, demonstrated significant investment to achieve a discerning and quality finish, providing the team with a first-class workplace experience.Selected by the project team led by the client, together with Project Managers Gerald Eve, to provide furniture consultancy, Jon Odey, Managing Director of furniture forum “excelled himself”, according to the client. Jon and the team at furniture forum were selected as the chosen supplier as they had great access to leading furniture suppliers and the client has praised furniture forum for their efforts on delivering over 80 pieces of bespoke, high-end design furniture.The client, who explains that they had a distinguished eye for “forensic level detail”, recognised that “furniture was such a major component of an office”. They understood this was integral to the overall design and invested to ensure the finished workspace met with stakeholder expectations.The partner-led approach required Jon and his team to be very hands on throughout the project, starting from the initial design stage at the outset of the office relocation. Jon seamlessly integrated with the initial professional team which included the PMs, an architect, M&E and AV consultants. He provided considered pricing and furniture options, allowing the clients to make informed choices, both in the early design and planning stages and throughout the project. During the planning, the client comments that “Jon was very responsive to feedback and evolved his proposals in line with our design.” The considered approach continued as the project team appointed a main contractor and interior design team as well as an acoustician.During the design phase, Jon spent time with the clients, both at their existing offices and by inviting them to visit a number of furniture showrooms – providing them with tangible examples and inspiration. Recognising the benefits of his approach, the clients explains that “Jon got a feel for our existing space and the quality we required”.During the project, the client evolved the design, which required all contractors and suppliers to react accordingly. The client explains that “Jon was quick to adapt and worked hard with manufacturers to meet lead times”. One of the major changes to the design was to address issues with the acoustics in the building. furniture forum worked with the designers and adapted the necessary areas, using furniture to create zones.Commenting on the completed project, the client exclaims that the office has “the wow factor”. It has staff breakout areas with furniture that “defines the space”. One of the clients’ objectives was to give something back to their staff and they believe that the result of this design has certainly achieved that, and they explain that they’ve had “lots of compliments” from colleagues.An element of furniture forum’s service which impressed the client was their encouragement to re-use existing furniture, where possible. The client comments that “by following Jon’s recommendations and re-using some of the furniture, we saved £75,000”.
