Inspiration from James Cracknell

Yesterday our Partnership Consultant, James Cracknell MPhil OBE talked to us about how his journey took him to joining Curve Workplaces three months ago. This included delivering a long-term goal under immense pressure at the Olympics rowing golds, bobbing about in a rowboat across the Atlantic for 50 days with a non-rower but enthusiastic Ben Fogle. Learning to cope with (but not quite conquer) the freezing cold of the South Pole and the burning heat of the Sahara in the MARATHON DES SABLES. Overcoming the adversity after being put into a coma by a fuel truck whilst cycling in America. His refusal to be defined by a brain injury meant he did an MPhil at Cambridge University and at 46 becoming the oldest man to row in the Boat Race 15 years after he last rowed. Not to mention his glorious first round exit in Strictly Come Dancing the same year…Our Managing Director, Michael Potter MRICS said, “I am personally delighted that James’s natural curiosity, enthusiasm and intellect have meant that he has really hit the ground running and fully embraced the adventures and challenges in the Design & Build business with us.”
