Neurodiversity Network session with James

Last night James Finnis, Head of UK Agency for JLL, hosted a Neurodiversity Network session for his team at their London HQ, with James Cracknell MPhil OBE Curve Workplaces Sustainability & Wellbeing Consultant on the panel alongside Owner and Founder of Jan Erika Design. The theme was ‘Triumph over Adversity – understanding the power of Resilience and Reinvention.’ You could have heard a pin drop throughout particularly with the extraordinary similarities between the life stories of a double Olympic gold medallist and one of the UK’s most sought-after abstract artists, who is also a classically trained concert cellist. In a nutshell: Both have not only survived but thrived after life threatening accidents which required long periods of hospitalisation, rehabilitation, and re-learning how to think …It was a measure of how engaged the audience was that James Finnis, reluctantly, had to draw a line under the Q&A session which could have gone on well into the small hours of the night. Curve’s Managing Director, Michael Potter MRICS said: “Thank you James for making me and my colleagues so welcome at your team meeting. It was lovely to both catch up with long term friends at JLL and to make so many new ones.” “Our James and Jan Erika spoke with such openness and candour, with a deep willingness to show their vulnerability, on how they have fallen forward so resiliently in their reinvention.” He added. “I was particularly proud to see James talking about why a key part of his reinvention has been finding a home with Curve for his passion and expertise in workplace wellbeing and sustainability.  He has already made an immense contribution to our businesses in his first year almost to the day of being on our team"
