Work experience with Ava Clark

Last week it was a real pleasure to welcome Ava Clark into the Curve Workplaces businesses for some work experience. We frequently have young people asking if they can come and spend time with us, which we welcome with both open arms and with a proper structure that is bespoke to what they are wanting to get out of their time. Always with one key point of contact throughout the week, Ava was looked after by the Managing Director of our furniture business, Furniture Forum, Mark Bessant who co-ordinated the work shadowing that she wanted to experience. We caught up with Ava, who has just completed her first year of A-Level study, at the end of the week: “As soon as I walked through Curve’s Bracknell head office I was given such a warm welcome and then straight into it.” She said. “Highlights of the week were learning about all of the fundamental operations principles of the business with Operations Co-Ordinator Edie Zeegen-Chivers, out and about both on one of Curve’s current jobs with World Duty Free - WDF and visiting furniture show rooms with Mark, and a day with Phil Williams in the Marketing Department.” “The week really re-affirmed my plan to not go onto University after school. I want to get straight into the workplace, possibly via an Apprenticeship, and I think I am leaning towards a career in marketing.” “Thank you Curve I will certainly be pointing my friends your way for the opportunity to have the fulfilling and fun week that I had.”
